Vernita Robberson: Check the brand Shuttle, they have some good stuff. Not sure if Boxee is something you would consider, these two brands are not mainstream brands but have done well. I don't have too many details about each but you can easily get prices and info on features and what they do best.
Mitsuko Manne: I would definately recommend the Antec Fusion (see link below), it has everything you need for a home theater pc. The design is very cool and will look good side by side with your plasma.It is very easy to setup and it is surprisingly fast. What I really like about it is that it does not make much sound at all.
