Simona Bulwinkle: They float for the same reason other boats float, they displace water with air. Whether it's fiberglass has nothing to do with it.
Tom Romer: Steel boats float too.Anything will float if it's the right shape. I have even seen a boat made from stone (an engineer was making a point)
